I enjoy teaching students of all levels and ages.
If you do not have previous riding experience, we will start by getting comfortable grooming, tacking up, and leading some of the farm's quieter horses and ponies. We will next learn the basics of riding, including walk, trot, and canter. As you advance, we will work on posting diagonals, lead changes, and the fundementals of dressage.
When you are ready, you can join one of my groups that take weekly or bi-weekly elssons. As you progress, we will begin to mix flat work and jumping in the lessons.
I hold group lessons for kids most afternoons, and teach adult groups weekday mornings. Many of my students ride the farm's horses, but you are welcome to truck in with your own horse.
I have been riding for 25 years, and teaching for 15. One of my specialties is training young and problematic horses. I use long-line techniques and have been successful in retraining many horses for their owners.

I specialize in helping students learn and compete in the sport of eventing. Eventing is an Olympic discipline that is referred to as the “equestrian triathlon”. The sport involves working with horses in three phases of competition which include dressage, cross country jumping, and stadium jumping.
In addition to teaching others, I have trained and competed my own horse, “Frosted Mug” to the top levels of the sport including international competitions. I have also worked with many young horses bringing them through the levels, meticulously building their confidence and skills to keep them moving along in their training. I am currently campaigning several young horses for owners and students
I teach private and semi-private lessons at various times during the week. I offer dressage, stadium jumping and cross country training.

I am a USDF Certified Instructor and
have completed the USDF L program. In addition to training horses and riders, I also judge schooling shows throughout New England.
I enjoy working with students and horses of all levels and believe that a patient, positive approach is the
best way to develop harmony between students and their equine partners.
I teach private and semi-private dressage lessons at various times during the week.

My goal is to help students learn to master the sport of dressage riding while having a great time! My current students range from beginners to riders that compete at recognized local, regional, and national dressage competitions. This summer, my students competed at training level, first level, second level, FEI Junior (between 3rd and 4th levels), and Prix St. George. We had a great show season and are looking forward to NEDA Fall and Devon!
When I am not teaching, I train and compete clients’ horses as well as my own. However, I sold my horse this spring and am looking forward to finding a new horse to compete with! I enjoyed several wonderful years with my horse- training and competing him in the FEI Young Horse levels through 4 th level. So far this year, my students have won regional championships at 1st level in both the Arabian and Morgan breed shows, the FEI high point award at Vermont Dressage Days, and we are heading to the Region 8 Dressage Championships in September. After the 2005 show season, my horses in training received 4 Horse of the Year Awards and one of my students won the FEI Junior Championship at the Youth Dressage Festival as well as placing 3 rd in that division at Region 8 Championships..
I loved intercollegiate riding while at U Mass, and now coach the Harvard University Dressage team at Orchard Hill. This is an exciting and challenging program for riders as only 10 minutes of warm up with the horse are allowed before the test! Last year, the first year of the team- one of our riders made it to nationals and placed 7 th in upper training level.
