Meet Our Staff!

Tara Franklin has been riding and teaching for 30 years. She specializes in teaching junior riders. Tara is the coach of the Patriots Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) team, one of the top middle and high school teams in the country. Many of Orchard Hill's students have progressed to ride on the Patriots team.

Tara's Bay colored Thoroughbred, Happy, lives in the pony barn and spends her days romping in the big field with the mares.

Tara loves Happy, her dogs and her students!

Judy Francisco has raised six children, eight horses, hundreds of dogs and cats, and two Amazonian parrots. Needless to say, she can handle our campers. She has studied Therapeutic Horsemanship and Classical Dressage. She loves ballet, vaulting, dressage, and working with beginner riders. Her favorite horse is Derby.
Linda Butler was a teacher and the Vice Principal at Weston Middle School. She knows EVERYTHING about horses. Everything.
Cindy Teich is the owner of Orchard Hill Equestrian Center. She loves trail riding with her horse Larkspur, and so do Chip and Charlie - they follow Cindy wherever she goes! Cindy has been working with horses for almost twenty years, and has raised three horse-crazy daughters.
  COUNSELORS

Liza Teich currently lives in New York City, but returns to Orchard Hill each summer for camp. She loves her pony Alf and her horses, Roxy and Jolie. She adopted four campers last summer but unfortunately their parents took them back. She is hoping to find more legally binding contracts this year. She has seen every High School Musical movie.

Caroline Teich is a rising junior at UMass Amherst. She is the proud owner of Freddy and Splinter the rat. Caroline loves to cook and her specialty is "camper stew". However, due to complaints from parents last summer, she may not be able to prepare that dish again. If she were to be stuck on a desert island for the rest of her life and could only choose one food to survive on, she would choose potatoes.

Ally "Bricks" Govoni is a student at Algonquin High School. Her favorite pony is Freddy. She enjoys throwing dance parties in the indoor arena, wearing gold bandannas and playing Marco Polo in the pool. She is NOT afraid of vampires.

Jackie Sebastian loves the Indiannapolis Colts, and will be very angry if you say anything bad about them to her. This is how we lost several of our campers last summer. She enjoys riding Rex and mucking stalls. Her favorite color is purple.

Charlie Teich enjoys sleeping and eating. Also sleeping and eating.
D-Con Zeferino is the assistant barn manager at Orchard Hill. He is responsible for keeping the barns free of rats. He loves to give kisses, especially after eating rats!

Splinter Teich is the son of Caroline and her husband, Bob. He loves to snuggle and watch tv, or snuggle and read, or snuggle and lick your fingers in search of food. He's pretty low-key.
