Alf
Alf is our very cutest pony! Only 5 years old and 12.1 hands high, he is a favorite for new young riders and Freddy's very best friend! He likes taking naps in the sunshine, eating peppermints and learning new things.

Acoya
Acoya is a beautiful dun Quarter Horse gelding who is best friends with Cody QH. He likes going on trail rides and eating carrots. Young riders love Acoya, who is known for his patient, gentle temperment.
His favorite song is "Black & Yellow" by Wiz Khalifa. |

Princess Charissa
Charissa is a very sweet and loveable purebred Arabian mare. She was born in Florida, where she learned to pull a carriage. She then moved to Massachusetts and spent much of her youth as a pet on a farm in Hamilton.
Charissa taught the three Teich sisters to ride and was a favorite at the Jericho Forest Pony Club. She has many blue ribbons from horse shows and Beginner Novice eventing. She also volunteered in a handicapped student riding program for a year.
Now back with her family at Orchard Hill, Charissa loves carrots, trail rides, and hanging out with her best friend Fancy. |

Caprice Classic
Cappy is a Paint/Draft horse cross gelding. He is a lovely dun color with beautiful light brown eyes. He is friendly, energetic and a lot of fun to ride! |

Cody QH
Cody QH is a bay Quarter Horse gelding. He can be ridden both Western and English, but he prefers to be ridden Western by his owner, Bob. He is very friendly and calm, and has a large fan following at Orchard Hill.
There are a total of three horses named Cody at Orchard Hill! So we identify them by breed. One is a Welsh Pony, one is a Warmblood, and our favorite is a Quarter Horse!
Cody is such a nice horse, he doesn't even need to be ridden with a bit in his mouth! Instead, he uses a hackamore, which works by putting pressure on his nose. |

Derby
Derby is a beautiful dappled grey mare who loves to jump! She is available for riders of all ages and levels.
She is a Quarter Horse, which is an American breed that is best known for being very fast sprinters. They are used for quarter mile races. |

Fancy
Fancy was donated to Orchard Hill by her former owner. Like her best friend, Jasmine, she is a beautiful light grey Arabian mare. Sometimes it is hard to tell them apart! How do we do it? Look at their feet - two of Jasmine's feet are white, and all of Fancy's feet are black. |

Fred Astaire
"Freddy" joined Orchard Hill in October at age four, and has impressed us with his quiet but scopey jumping ability. He is now schooling 3' in the ring and 3'6" jumping his paddock fence.
Freddy is still a youngster and needs lots of exercise. He and his best friend Alf love running around their pasture. On days when he is feeling bored, you might see him with both front feet in his water trough!

Larkspur
Larkspur was USEA Area I Novice Horse of the Year at age 6. From age eight, she helped her young rider compete up through Training level eventing (3'3"). Now Mom's horse, she loves cross country and dressage. She is a 15.3hh Holsteiner / Thoroughbred cross with a wonderful disposition and a great ride for both adults and juniors.

Maverick
Maverick is a six year old blue roan Quarter Horse gelding. He enjoys competing at events with his leaser, Monica. |

Rex
Rex is a friendly seven year old Clydesdale/Quarter Horse cross. He jumps EVERYTHING and loves to go to shows and hunter paces. Everyone loves riding Rex, from beginners to advanced riders! He also enjoys eventing at the Beginner Novice level.

Saratoga Flag
"Sarah" is Jay's new training project. She was bought off the racetrack along with Zeus, and has been making a lot of progress since she came to OHEC. Though still young, she has proven to be an elegant dressage mount and an incredibly scopey jumper. She is currently competing at the Novice level of eventing.

Sophie
Sophie is a grey Percheron mare who is a wonderful mount for adult beginners. She goes English and Western, and can jump as well! "The Big Sofa," as her many admirers call her, is also the most comfortable horse at the barn to ride bareback!

Sparky
Sparky is the newest addition to the Orchard Hill team. He is a 12 year old Pony of the Americas who has competed at Beginner Novice level eventing. We are very excited for our students to start showing him! |

Zeus
Zeus is a six year old Thoroughbred ex-racehorse who was bought off the track along with Sarah. He is loved by everyone at the barn due to his friendly, relaxed personality. He is an excellent jumper and often jumps much higher than he needs to! He is currently competing at Training level eventing.
As you can tell from the picture, Zeus is a big fan of Gatorade - he says the electrolytes help keep him hydrated.
